Back Injuries
The difficulty in being a carpenter or a construction worker not just lies in the fact that these two professions require one to shed buckets of sweat (no pun intended) and exert extraordinary muscle work. In other words, they require a man to put his testosterones at work - critical work at that. Although these jobs pay good, many men still, as much as possible, ignore them. Why? One of the many reasons behind this is the fear of getting severe to acute back injuries.
Back injury may sound like a “grade-schoolish” scab you get after playing tags with your classmates, but it's actually not – it's one-hundred-years more serious than that. You shouldn't be fooled by this illness' name since it actually concerns the spinal cord, a very important part of humans' central nervous system.
Now, what is back injury? The United States Department of Labor defines back injury as a “result of unfavorable pressures to the spine during day to day activity.” This means that it may be brought by sprains (occurs when one commits a twisting or lifting mistake) and fractures (often from osteoporosis or major accidents) in the spine. The most common of all symptoms of having a back injury is back pain.
